New ISO ITAM Standards Committee White Paper: ITAM and Sustainable IT

The ISO ITAM Standards Committee recently published a new white paper focused on how ITAM can contribute towards sustainability. Rather than a thought-leadership piece, and one purely focused on energy consumption, this white paper addresses the full lifecycle impact of IT services. This includes the raw materials that go into building software, hardware and cloud services. It also touches on the environmental impact of creating IT services in the first place.

Windows 11 roll out: An opportunity for ITAM to shine

Rolling out a new operating system requires speed, cost-effectiveness and a waterproof IT asset management system able to identify machines that are both available and ineligible for upgrades. Lansweeper data based on an estimated 30 million Windows devices from 60,000 organizations reveals that on average, only 44.4% of the workstations are eligible to receive the automatic upgrade while more than 55% are not capable of being upgraded.
