Notes from our Chair_Nov (2021)

As a profession, we’re still working to be well understood and to effectively communicate the business value we deliver to organizations of all sizes and across all industries. That’s why it’s important for us to celebrate, showcase, and evangelize the fantastic work we do. And, why industry awards such as the ITAM Excellence Awards, SAM Europe Awards and the IAITAM Fellowship Award are so important.

2021 marked the first year ITAM Forum Trustees officially served as the Judging Panel for the ITAM Excellence Awards. These awards shine a light on ITAM and the professionals, service providers, vendors and specialists pushing the industry forward and leading the field.

Please read about the 2021 Excellence Awards winners and finalists, and join me in acknowledging their tremendous contributions and celebrating their fantastic achievements!

I would like to personally congratulate the following winners.

These individuals work with me as ITAM Forum Trustees and Patrons to help the ITAM Forum achieve its goals:

  • Trustee Sherry Irwin. Sherry won the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. She has worked in ITAM for several decades and is a true trailblazer. Sherry began her career as an IT Security Analyst and Software Planner before starting her own ITAM consultancy in 1995.
  • Trustee Rachel Ryan. Rachel leads the team at Danska Bank that won the ITAM ‘Project of the Year’ award. Under her leadership, this team elevated and broadened its role and is now regarded as a trusted partner. It also achieved a Best-in-Class score during a SAM Maturity Assessment conducted by Softline – the highest score ever achieved.
  • Ben Strickland from RAY ALLEN INC., an ITAM Forum Patron. Ben won the ‘Professional of the Year’ award. He was recognized for aiding industry-leading ITAM implementations, his contributions to ISO standards, and for playing a leadership role in maturing ITAM in the IT infrastructure market.

Well done everyone! It’s great to see such leadership and commitment to our profession. This will significantly help ITAM become the strategic and trusted adviser and partner it deserves to be within all organisations.
