In September 2020, the voluntary group that creates the 19770 family of standards asked the ITAM community for feedback as it began developing guidance for how to implement ITAM. The group specifically wanted to know what guidance the world-wide ITAM community thought was needed. It was specifically interested in hearing from those not involved with ITAM standards. Thank you to everyone who provided suggestions.

Hernán brings to the Forum close to 10 years of community and marketing experience. Originally from Spain, Hernán started his career interning with Pontevedra Football Club and Cadena COPE, one of Spain’s biggest radio stations. He joins the ITAM Forum from a global customer agency, where he was a Community Insights Manager.

The ITAM Forum, the new professional body for the advancement of the global IT Asset Management industry, has today passed an important milestone by appointing an independent standardization institute to act as secretariat of the world’s first ITAM certification based on ISO 19770.

I know the value it can bring to every organization’s bottom line and the significant risks that can materialize if it’s ignored. After decades, many companies still fall short when it comes to implementing and leveraging ITAM properly and by not giving ITAM the attention it deserves.
The adoption of the Ten Principles will help ITAM professionals to focus on those activities that support strategic, business goals, not simply license compliance.
The ITAM Forum, which officially launched one year ago during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, today celebrates its first-year anniversary with a list of achievements and momentum to build on. The ITAM Forum was founded on three key principles; to be led by ITAM endusers not software publishers, to be guided by a trustee board of ITAM professionals and operate on a not-for-profit basis. Today, the ITAM Forum is proud to announce that more than half of its Trustee Board is composed of end-user ITAM professionals, including its Chair, Melody Ayeli.
