What a year 2023 has been for the ITAM Forum! We grew in numbers and activities, and we achieved one of our key objectives: To create – and be a caretaker of – the world’s first ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification scheme.

You’ll find more details about this below along with a highlight of some of our other 2023 achievements.

First things first. We couldn’t have done any of this without you, the global ITAM community. Thank you!

Enablement

We had a packed member-only webinar series. We hosted 10 webinars with topics covering FinOps, Sustainability, Infosecurity, ITAM ‘Power Skills’, AI and more! These informal, conversational and educational webinars run in a Q&A style with a panel of experts. Best of all, there are no slides!

(ITAM Forum members: log in and visit the Resources area of the members’ website to access the webinars on-demand).

This year, we also launched an Ambassador program. These 10 professionals volunteer their time to help develop the ITAM profession. They’re ‘go to’ experts on ITAM hot topics. You’ll find our Ambassadors active in the Discussion Board, at events, and more.

Community

During 2023, the ITAM Forum community grew by 54%! ITAM Forum Members now come from 65 countries (and counting), which is 1/3 of all countries in the world! In response to this, we now have 10 country chapters.

We also have 7 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) with our newest being: Women in ITAM and AI.  During 2023, these SIGs produced a range of great resources for ITAM Forum community members and hosted webinars.

Certification

In March 2023, we, with help from the global ITAM community, brought to market the world’s first ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification scheme. Organisations can now, unequivocally, demonstrate the quality of their ITAM practice.

We also celebrated the first three organisations to receive ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification – HDI Group, Softline Group Northern Europe and the Dutch Police. Wow!

Is your organisation ready to be certified? Find out!

You can learn about the scheme by visiting our Knowledge Base and FAQ webpage.

We also launched our new ISO/IEC 19770-1 Practitioner course. It focuses on the skills needed to help end-user organisations successfully navigate an ISO/IEC 19770-1 audit and achieve certification.

Support

The ITAM Forum is free to join thanks to the tremendous support of its Patrons. These organisations share the Forum’s mission to promote the business value of ITAM.

We also gained 6 new Trustee to our volunteer Board of Trustees:

Get involved

Although we’ll have a rest at the end of December, we have many things planned for 2023!

If you’re not yet an ITAM Forum member, well, why not?! Welcome!

We’d like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our Member, Trustees and Patrons. Without you, we wouldn’t be an international membership organisation for ITAM professionals. We also wouldn’t be able to help the ITAM industry and profession grow and succeed.
