The ITAM Forum, the professional body for the advancement of the global IT Asset Management industry, has reached the final steps in the development of the world’s first, independent, globally-recognized ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification scheme for organizations.
Nearly 100 volunteering ITAM professionals (who comprise the Committee of Experts) and NEN (Royal Netherlands Standardization Institute) have helped draft the scheme and ready it for validation.
A handful of organizations will now participate in the validation phase where they will go through the full certification process to help iron out any issues found through real- world experience and provide feedback. If successful, these organizations will gain “ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification”. Brand Compliance, an independent external certification body, will perform the conformity assessments.

The ITAM Forum intends to launch the scheme to the market during summer 2022. Organizations wishing to explore certification, can now register their interest. A member of the ITAM Forum team will get in touch to explain the next steps.
Certifying against the scheme will give businesses an unbiased, independent, globally-accepted quality stamp for their ITAM practice. This will assure them and their partners, customers and stakeholders that they meet the highest ITAM standards in the world.
