The ITAM Forum announces ISO/IEC 19770-1 Certification Patron Program

March 21, 2023

Swindon, UK, 21st March 2023: Less than one month after launching the world’s first ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification scheme for IT asset management, the ITAM Forum today announces a new program to help end-user organizations achieve ISO ITAM certification.

The ISO/IEC 19770-1 Certification Patron program showcases ITAM managed service providers best qualified to help organisations achieve ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification. The ITAM Forum has assessed each Certification Patron against set criteria, and these Patrons must also gain ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification – if they haven’t already – so they have first-hand knowledge of, and experience with, the certification process.

The first Certification Patrons:
Anglepoint
SHI
Softline Group Northern Europe
TIMETOACT GROUP
TMG
USU

Martin Thompson, founder of the ITAM Forum, comments, “These organisations are champions of change within the ITAM industry and have demonstrated their commitment to the highest ITAM quality of standards.

Following the launch of the ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification just last month, we are seeing strong interest from companies wishing to gain certification. But, choosing an ITAM company to partner with is never easy. The Certifications Patrons scheme takes much of the risk and guess work out of this process. End-user organizations can now be assured that if they choose a Certification Patron, they will be choosing an ITAM services company that has met our strict criteria and fully understands ISO/IEC 19770-1 and the certification process.”

About the ISO/IEC 19770-1 certification scheme

Similar to other international standards for management systems (ISO 27001 and 9001), ISO/IEC 19770-1 specifies the requirements for an IT asset management system – the people, processes, and technology necessary to manage IT assets throughout the lifecycle. Prior to the launch of the ITAM Forum’s certification scheme, organizations could not demonstrate the quality of their ITAM practices in a consistent, uniform and globally accepted way.
