Certification scheme for IT Asset Management

IT Asset Management (ITAM) is about managing the IT resources of an organization. This concerns all IT resources of software and hardware in organizations. ITAM is used or offered by many organizations.

To illustrate that this is done in a good way and that important standards have been followed, it is preferred to have a ‘proof’ for this.

An ‘ITAM certificate’ will help an organization to unambiguously prove that it has organized ITAM correctly. Different international organizations in the market have expressed a clear interest in developing the certification scheme. A questionnaire via the ITAM Forum website under 227 persons showed that almost half of the group (46%) is interested in being certified.

Multiple organizations, organized in the ITAM Forum, have started the development of such a certificate, which will be based on ISO 19770-1 and ISO 19770-11. ITAM Forum is the owner of the certification scheme and NEN will provide support during the development and will support with editorial changes, providing a work-, meeting- and document structure.
